I've loved technology ever since I was a little kid. I remember the day my mom brought home an old used computer. I plugged in the dial up, signed up for a free AOL trial, and started playing around with it. I remember not being able to afford to pay for AOL so I would sneak into my neighbors mailboxes to steal their AOL free trial disk.

I grew up with single mom who worked 3+ jobs in order to give my brother and I all the opportunities she didn't have. It's thanks to that brother, who always encouraged me and believed in me, that I took the step to get into tech. My first 'tech' job was for a start up in Lehi Utah called Entrata. I came in as an entry level data entry associate (no coding) and within less than a year I showed them my skills by finding a small repeatable piece of work everyone was doing and automating it. This is why I truly believe the best skills and companies are born from solving problems.

Thanks to my first job and everything I have learned I've been able to explore multiple industries marketing, communications, AI, conversation intelligence, and reviews. Each time I've seen creative and fun ways that technology has enhanced ones role and market. It's also thanks to my work history that I've financially been in a place to follow, what my wife would call my expensive hobbies.

I love buying gadgets from Ipads and Phones to smart air fresheners. I still think of hardware and tech as magic, I mean, we have been able to harness this magic system of 0's and 1's and turned them into everyday tools in our lives. I can't wait to keep testing and using everything I can get my hands on.

So what's the point of this site? I have a lot of things that I like obviously tech, but with the amount of media, books, etc. I consume I thought I would let my hobbies help me express myself better. I'm hoping over the years, this site can be a place where I practice and maybe help some one else out with my thoughts. So welcome to MarksThoughts.
